Discovering #TheStitch and wearing it every day is so important to me. It gives me an opportunity to declare that people do not need to be silent, that they are not alone.
When I learned about The Stitch, I thought how brilliant it is to have a symbol for others to see that will let them know I am someone they can reach out to. I’m not one to push anyone else to hear my story… It’s a part of my history that took me a long time to come to terms with. I wish The Stitch had been around when I was younger, but I’m so glad I can play a small part now in helping to spread and share The Stitch. I know the potential impact of this small action can be tremendous.
So, for all those who think they are alone… or think no one can help them… or who are feeling hopeless… I hope that seeing The Stitch on my clothing, my luggage, my purse and just about anything else I can stitch it on will encourage them to reach out if they need support. I’ve been there and I know it can be challenging to take that first step, to speak out. But I also know that doing so can lead to such a strong sense of empowerment.
There is a path to happiness, the ability to live a life you love. And together we can all find the way. I wear The Stitch and I am proud to do so.
