Speak Your Silence designates 100% of public donations to provide free counseling for individuals who have been personally affected by child sexual abuse.
Speak Your Silence offers free, in-person, one-on-one counseling for individuals personally affected by child sexual abuse. Our program is evidence-based, offering a full service practice, with the primary objective of bringing recovery, healing, and hope to each individual who goes through our process.
Because we understand the power of conversation; we want to help provide an opportunity for individuals to begin to unpack the heavy weight of child sexual abuse, to begin to talk it out.
Through counseling, each counseling grantee is given the opportunity to begin to work through the experiences of their past to find hope, healing, and empowerment.
This program is local everywhere in the U.S. Each grantee is placed with a counselor in the area in which they live.
We provide counseling grants to two types of applicants: 1) those who personally experienced a form of child sexual abuse as children, and 2) those who have experienced trauma as a result of a loved one’s experience of sexual abuse, or as a result of being otherwise personally exposed.
Grantees receive first class services in our counseling program. Our partner, Business Psychology Associates (BPA), founded in 1974, is nationally accredited for the quality of its services. Accreditation is a process by which an impartial organization (for us, URAC) reviews a company’s operations to ensure that the company is conducting business in a manner consistent with national standards.
Our counseling philosophy is to assist individuals in finding a positive path to recovery, one that emphasizes how to build resilience against the pain of the past, and strength to develop a bright, hopeful future. We help grantees develop a community of support, both with their local friends and loved ones and among the greater Speak Your Silence family.
